Attention, NYC Residents! Puppy Mill Awareness Day Walk Is This Saturday!

Here's a great way to join in the fight against puppy mills, Big Apple animal lovers! Grab your pooch and head out to Riverside Park this Saturday, May 20, for the annual Puppy Mill Awareness Day dog walk. The event, sponsored by our friends at Adopt-A-Pet, Inc. and Last Chance for Animals, will take place from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., rain or shine. Special guests include Chris DeRose of HBO’s Dealing Dogs and former puppy mill dogs Ajax, Fozzie and Daisy; there’ll also be vendors, a silent auction, and contests for canines to compete in, ranging from “Loudest Bark” to “Best Dressed.” For registration information, please visit Awareness Day online.

And P.S., if you haven’t already done so, please take a moment to thank Governor Edward Rendell for his willingness to initiate change in transforming Pennsylvania’s puppy mill industry.

Please give me feedback on pet stores in manhattan such as Pets on Lex or PetCo or any other company that deals with selling kittens or dogs. I am trying to research what goes on between the stores and the breeders and if everything is really like what the pet store vendors tell you it is.
