Avocado....yuk.... all that green stuff!!The leaves,fruit, seeds and bark of avocado contain Persin, which can cause vomiting and diarrhea in dogs. Birds and rodents are sensitive to avocado poisoning, and can develop congestion, difficulty breathing and fluid accumulation around the heart. Some ingestions may even be fatal. Whew...that's chilling. :(

Hey people...the ASPCA along with other agencies participated in a multi-stae dog fighting ring and resulted in over 400 dogs, most of whom were Pit Bulls and 26 arrests were made. :) Pet behaviorists and other experts evaluated each dog to determine their suitability for possible placement with qualified rescue groups or experienced adopters. Evidence was gathered at the scene and prosecutors will use it in bringing justice to those involved. ASPCA President and CEO, Ed Sayres commented,"These dogs suffered terribly at the hands of dog fighters, and our hope is that the evidence collected will help bring justice for all these animals." We need "stiffer laws and tougher penalties". Read the article and before I forget, "Have you spayed or neutered your pet? If not why not?" Hug your pet and have a good day.

Thousands of shelter dogs are labeled unadoptable and are euthanized because they're too high energy for the normal household.From pure breds to mutts. Some of these dogs are taken and placed into programs where they are trained to be service dogs and disaster search dogs.This is good as it saves a lot of lives.How about that?? :))

I want to get involved in helping this breed. they remind me of my boyfriend. At 1st site people fear him and his past reputation isnt that great. But, he is the most loving person I know. all i had to do was love him 1st and gain his trust. I am going to sign up this week for volunteer work!

Yeah...Miss Ava.....The ASPCA is doing everything they can to break up these dog fighting rings.We need tougher laws.With that, penalties will be tougher, and I do mean tougher. We all need to give ASPCA and all the other agencies support in this. This way, it won't be just a slap on the wrist any more for these bad owners. Deep in the heart of every dog, there is something good.Don't abuse it.

A friend of mine has a fine watch dog. At any suspicious noise, he wakes the dog and the dog begins to bark.My friend has all the lights on and is still in the dark.
