Good Luck for Jinxie
Florida resident Brandi Koster was completely devastated when she lost her beloved dog to cancer last September. “I was unsure if I’d ever be able to love another animal,” says Brandi, “but my boyfriend thought we should at least take a look at the animals at our local shelter in Orlando.”
Checking out the animals available for adoption, Brandi noticed a man looking over a large furry cat on one of the petting tables. “I remember thinking how great it was that he was going to adopt this homeless cat and take her home,” she says. But then the man told the shelter staffer the cat was too old—he wanted a younger one.
“Something drew me to the cage that the cat had been placed back into,” says Brandi. After spending some time with the beautiful feline, she knew she’d found her new furry companion.
Her first visit to the veterinarian brought another surprise. Jinxie had broken her front teeth chewing on the cage at the shelter, and would probably soon be losing her teeth. “This news, even though sad, made me love her more,” says Brandi. “Jinxie has become a very important part of our family, and now our home runs solely for her comfort and convenience. I cannot thank the shelter enough for giving us such an angel.”
