Gulfport-Biloxi
The ASPCA has announced that Gulfport-Biloxi is completing its final year as a partner community of ASPCA Mission: Orange. Accepted as one of the initial communities to ASPCA Mission: Orange in January of 2007, Gulfport-Biloxi, like our other partner communities, has received an intensified amount of ASPCA support since that time. We would like to thank all of the animal welfare professionals we worked with, both directly and indirectly, for their collaborative efforts during our time in Gulfport-Biloxi. These efforts have helped establish the framework necessary for raising the live release rate—that is, the number of animals who leave the sheltering system alive, in Gulfport-Biloxi, which is a key goal of ASPCA Mission: Orange. As the partnership comes to a close, the ASPCA has committed over $100,000 in final year funding to Gulfport-Biloxi for spay/neuter, urban transport, adoption and microchip efforts. Though the formal partnership will be coming to an end, the ASPCA will continue to offer support and guidance, as they do across the country, through the efforts of the ASPCA Community Outreach Department.
