Town Lake Animal Center relies on teams of trained, responsible volunteers to provide extra care and services to the shelter’s human and animal customers. There are also volunteer opportunities for children accompanied by parents.

The Austin Humane Society is looking for volunteers to help in many different areas, from caring for shelter animals directly to assisting staff who lead members of the community through the adoption process. Attending a volunteer orientation—held the first Saturday of each month at 124 W. Anderson Lane—is required.

Animal Trustees of Austin is searching for volunteers in many areas, including  helping at the spay/neuter and wellness clinics and helping with fundraising and marketing. Please email the shelter volunteer@animaltrustees.org to schedule a 30-minute, preliminary tour of the clinics.
