February 25, 2014

NEW YORK—The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) is teaming up with feline phenomenon Lil BUB to help special cats in need across the country. Click here to see Lil BUB’s press conference in its entirety.

All donations collected for Lil BUB’s BIG Fund for the ASPCA will be distributed as grants to animal welfare organizations to support cats that need special care or extra help getting adopted due to conditions such as: physical deformity, birth defects, developmental disability, mobility impairment, blindness, deafness, wounds suffered from a disaster, accident, or abuse, any permanent diseases or chronic illnesses and old age.

“Lil BUB has come to represent the unique bond and love between people and animals,” says ASPCA President & CEO Matt Bershadker. “The sad truth is that there are millions of cats across the country who are at-risk and who need our help. We’re proud to partner with Lil BUB to raise awareness and funds for these special cats.”

"It is a distinct honor to be able partner with the ASPCA to create Lil BUB’s Big FUND for the ASPCA. I am forever grateful to my fans, supporters and to all of my animal companions, without whom this fund could not be a reality. I came to Earth to make a difference, and thanks to the ASPCA, a difference will be made. GOOD JOB EVERYBODY,” says Lil BUB.

In addition to direct donations, 8-10 percent of the purchase price of items in the BUB STORE and at least 10 percent of Lil BUB’s earnings from certain licensed Lil BUB products will be donated directly to the fund.

Grants made through this fund will go toward programs at shelters, rescues, and other animal welfare groups across the country that include, but are not limited to: emergency and ongoing veterinary or medical care, physical and behavioral rehabilitation, hospice and sanctuary care, shelter enrichment, foster programs, adoption events and adoption make-ready costs, relocation programs to improve adoptability, safety net programs for owned cats to reduce pet relinquishment and to keep families together, and costs associated with emergencies, disasters or cruelty responses. Information on how to apply for grants from Lil BUB’s BIG Fund for the ASPCA will be made available soon on www.aspcapro.org.
