Humane law enforcement agents in Dutchess County, New York, arrested the owner of Puppies and Kittens pet store on April 25, seizing 10 unhealthy puppies—about half the puppies in the store, the Poughkeepsie Journal reports.
Richard Doyle was arrested on two counts of animal cruelty and two counts of selling diseased animals, both misdemeanors, the newspaper says. An unnamed employee was also charged with one count of animal cruelty.
The arrest comes a month after Doyle was arrested for selling a diseased Yorkie, the newspaper says. Another area pet store owner was arrested on similar charges in February.
