December 20,2010

cat Looking for a holiday present for your pooch or kitty? You may want to consider the latest tech gadget--according to the electronics website GearFuse.com, there are new applications for the iPad or iPod that are designed to entertain pets.

One of these new apps, Game for Cats, is fit for feisty felines. Created by the company Hiccup, the game features a small mouse or laser light moving around the screen of the iPad. In a video on the company's website, several cats are enthralled by the image, and actively try to capture the moving mouse or light with their paws.

An app that will surely get your dog excited is the iSqueek program, which features a variety of digital bouncy balls. When you touch the bouncy balls with your finger it makes a fun squeaky noise that will likely make your canine's ears perk up.

A recent poll by the Associated Press and PetSide.com found many pet parents will be buying gifts for their furry friends this year. Approximately 56 percent of dog guardians said they will tuck a gift under the tree for their pooch, while 48 percent of cat parents plan to surprise their feline with a present.
