I Heart My Pet (Pinterest Contest) Rules

  • No purchase necessary.

  • Must be 18 or older to enter. The ASPCA “I Heart My Pet” contest (the “Contest”) is void where prohibited and is limited to legal U. S. residents; ASPCA employees and their families are not eligible to enter.  However, ASPCA volunteers and those who have adopted an animal from the ASPCA are eligible to enter.

  • By entering the Contest, you are confirming that you are at least 18 years of age and (a) the sole owner of all photographs submitted on your “ASPCA I Heart My Pet” Contest” Pinterest Board  (or you have received permission from the owner to submit on his or her behalf), and (b) author of any text posted to your Pinterest “I Heart My Pet Contest” Board.

  • Entries are subject to the ASPCA’s Privacy Policy located at: http://www.aspca.org/about-us/legal-information/privacy-policy.html.

  • The Contest shall begin at 12:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time on March15, 2013, and the submission deadline is 5:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) on April 1, 2013.

  • Each Contestant may create only one eligible “I Heart My Pet Contest” Board.  However, each Board may include photographs of multiple pets, provided all photographs adhere to these ContestRules.

  • Contestants must register to enter the contest via the sign-up form on the ASPCA Contest announcement blog post [LINK].  Each registration must include the Contestant’s full name and email address, as well as a link to their “I Heart My Pet Contest” Pinterest Board.  Only Contestants who have successfully completed the  registration process will be eligible to participate in Contest. Contest winners will be asked to provide a mailing address to which the Contest prizes may be delivered.

  • Photo submissions should include only images of you and pet(s) owned by you. Submissions should not include: (i) images of any person other than you unless (a) such person is over 18 years of age and has given you permission to submit the photograph, or (b) such person is under 18 years of age and the legal guardian of such minor has consented to the minor’s photo being used in the Contest; (ii) images of any animal unless a person over 18 who owns such animal has consented to the animal’s photo being used in the Contest; or (iii) any images that may infringe upon the intellectual property rights of a third party.

  • ASPCA judges will visit each eligible “I Heart My Pet Contest” Pinterest Board and select one (1) photo from each Board (the “Finalist Photos”) based on the aesthetic quality of the photo submission and how compellingly it celebrates the featured animal(s).  ASPCA judges will then re-pin the Finalist Photos to the ASPCA’s  “I Heart My Pet Contest” Board.  Visitors to the ASPCA Board will then be prompted to vote for the final Contest winners by “liking” or “re-pinning” their favorite Finalist Photo.  Each “like" is worth 1 point and each “re-pin” is worth 2 points. The Finalist Photo with the most points at the end of the Contest will be announced as the Grand Prize winner, and the Finalist Photos with the second and third most points will be announced as additional winners.

  • In the event of a tie, the ASPCA judges will choose the final winners from the tied Finalist Photos through a vote based on the aesthetic quality of each photo and how compellingly it celebrates the featured animal(s).

  • The ASPCA judges’ decisions in the selection of the finalists and the voters’ decision in the selection of the three prize winners are final. All judgments are in the sole discretion of the ASPCA. Participation in the contest constitutes full and unconditional agreement to abide by these Rules and the ASPCA’s decisions regarding their interpretation.

  • Voters may “like” or “re-pin” as many different Finalist Photos as they choose.

  • Voting for Finalist Photos will open to the public beginning on March 15, 2013 at 5:00 P.M., EST and close on April 3, 2013 at 5:00 P.M. EST.

  • The Contest winners will be announced on April 5, 2013 on all ASPCA social media accounts (Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook), as well as in a blog post.

  • Winners will receive an ASPCA Gift Pack which includes a selection of products from the ASPCA online store, as well as merchandise from ASPCA Corporate Partners.

  • By submitting your text/photo for this Contest, you give the ASPCA an irrevocable, perpetual royalty-free right to use your name/text/photo for any purposes to promote the ASPCA’s mission of providing effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.
  • All local, state and federal taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.

  • This contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
