Big fan of: People—especially being patted and loved on by her favorites, learning new stuff, tasty treats, puzzle and squeaky toys, and playtime. Cupid loves walks and will stay right by your side. And when the walk is over, Cupid loves to settle right at your feet. She also likes to sleep in her crate.
Not a fan of: Scary sounds. (She’s a little bit noise-sensitive.)
Special features: Cupid is housetrained already, though she may need a refresher in her new home. And while she loves to bark in the shelter environment, in a foster home Cupid was quiet as a mouse; you can expect her to be a quiet companion in your house. Cupid has a medium energy level, so she’s perfect for someone who wants a dog who can be active but also knows how to enjoy a peaceful evening at home. She makes a great pupil and would love to learn more stuff. Cupid is very food-motivated and she already knows Sit, Down, Off and Come!
Other reasons she’s special: Cupid has been through so much; she came to us through the Humane Law Enforcement department. She had a torn ACL and several mammary gland growths. Cupid is healed up now, but her family should monitor her to ensure she does not develop mammary gland growths in the future. She also has a bit of osteoarthritis and needs to take inexpensive medication for this. She takes meds like a champ, though: You can just pop her pills in her food.
Dream home: A loving family with kids 12 and up without other dogs. (Cupid may have some dog friends, but she’d like to be your one and only canine.)
