Friends of Feral Cats

My husband Joe and I have been married for 40 years, during which time we've cared for many homeless animals—including kittens, a flying squirrel, a groundhog, birds, chipmunks and hummingbirds.

Most recently, we've trapped 16 feral cats on our property, and have taken them for spaying/neutering and vaccinations. We have eight feral cats in a cattery my husband built, which is attached to a small barn in our yard. The 8 cats are all named and sleep in the barn in straw beds—they also have a fenced-in area with many perches, roosts and logs to lie on. We spend more money feeding the animals than we do on ourselves!
