Adopted Abused Puppy

One day my aunt came to our apartment with a black Miniature Pinscher in her arms. She explained to us that she picked the dog up from the street after she saw her almost get hit by a car. She hardly had any fur and was covered in bruises and had cuts all over her body. She was also very skinny with a rash around the neck. Her personality was very skittish, she was paranoid and whimpered if we tried petting her—you could see the fear in her eyes. It broke my heart just seeing her that way and trying to imagine what she must have gone through. My mom went to the pet store for food, vitamins, and a special oil to make her fur grow back. After a little while she became the most energetic and cheerful dog, but never quite got over her nervous shakes when meeting new people. We named her Rosie, and she became best friends with our dog, Petunia. Rosie passed away last summer, but she lived happily knowing she had a family that loved her. We will never forget her.
