Called Animal Control and Saved Kittens

One evening, my daughter-in-law called me crying. She had learned of some neighborhood children carrying around dead kittens in a cereal box and asking people if they could bury them in their backyard. I got as much information as I could about the situation and called the local animal control. Then, I got in my car and went to the children's house to talk to their parents.

No one was home, but the garage door was wide open and all of these adorable kittens were skittering around. They were very skittish and their long hair was matted with feces and mud. There was no food or water available to them. I made an emergency call to our local vet and he too contacted animal control. I received a phone call later thanking me for the information and letting me know that the kittens had been removed from the home and would soon be placed up for adoption. The very next day I visited the kittens and of course couldn't resist adopting one myself. Sassy is the love of my life.
