Saved a Pit Bull from Severe Abuse
Several years ago my husband and I rescued a severely abused and neglected pit bull, whom we named Bryant. Bryant lived with a man who kept him in a cat carrier that was entirely too small for his body. In order to get Bryant into the carrier, his owner would repeatedly shoot him with a bb gun. Because the carrier was so small, every time Bryant was forced into it, he scraped the top of his back. This wound eventually became infected and he developed mange. Bryant also suffered a broken leg as a puppy. Because the break was left untreated and he was forced to lie on it in the cramped carrier, the entire side of his body did not grow properly.
It took us $1,400 in vet costs to nurse our boy back to health. But today he enjoys sleeping in the bed with us, car rides to the park and playing with his two sisters in a huge fenced-in yard.
