I understand people being upset about this ad but the people you should be targeting is NOT Skechers but the people who mass breed these animals, own them & make the decisions on whether they live or die. I worked for a state regulatory dept that made sure the greyhounds were cared for properly. I KNOW, for a fact, that if we saw ANY abuse, the kennel operators & owners were fined a good sum of money &, if not, changed, were put out of business. When the racing facility closed, 95% of the animals were taken in by adoption groups, rehabbed & adopted into the community. So not all dogs are treated bad. I think people need to do their homework & go after the INITIAL cause of this problem....the ones who own & breed strictly for THEIR OWN BENEFIT. And maybe if people were mature about this & wrote Skechers rather than just state crazy comments, EVERYONE will benefit, including the dogs

I have 20 pairs of these but I will not buy another pair or wear the ones I have unless they pull this ad and stop supporting greyhound racing. Another thing, I'm not happy that their shoes are made in China. We should boycott all products made in China until the Chinese government pass a law to make their fur farms illegal as they should be.

TO PJ:
I've stepped foot inside a racing kennel...to pick up the dogs the owners were throwing out. And yes, I do mean throwing out. They were going to shoot them and kill them for not being winners. Those dogs - which you claimed are so well cared for - are simply money to the owners. If the dog is injured or not a good racer, they are not kept alive long. They are not given proper medical care, they are worked to the bone. They are not loved or given any type of stimulation outside of racing, racing, racing. They are like factories.
I have seen the conditions that these dogs are kept in when I have gone with the rescue organization to pick them up. They are emaciated, injured, soaked in urine and feces. They are treated like garbage by the owners. Once, we arrived and saw 3 dogs hanged on a neighboring tree...we did not arrive in time for those poor souls. And what is even worse, is that there is no law against that in the state of WV.
So why don't YOU get your facts straight before you spout those lies.

Grey2KUSA is not an adoption group or affiliated with any. They take in 100's of thousands of dollars and get big paychecks out of out. How much of that money has ever been used to help adoption groups?
As to greyhounds being kept in crates all day, Track Crates are much larger than the vari-kennels most pets are kept in, re open and very spacious. You may as well go after ADOPTION GROUPS WHO USE THE EXACT SAME CRATES AS RACING KENNELS. They must be cruel too. Get FACTS before spewing garbage. Just how many of you have ever even stepped ONE FOOT in a racing kennel to find out FACTS for yourself instead of listening to a group that DOES NOT PROMOTE ADOPTIONS but is a POLITICAL organization???? Don't condemn unless you have first hand knoweledge. I reserve judgement of the commercial until I SEE IT not just hear about it.

It makes the company execs seem very out of touch.
