Help! Thaw Out the Virtual Kitties!
Gamers and animal lovers unite! If you’re like us and you play cutesie puzzle games to pass the time on the bus, check out ShiveringKittens. For each copy sold of this new iPhone/iPod Touch app, creator GiantCrayon Games will donate one dollar to the ASPCA! This promotion runs through April.
Oh no! Kittens are trapped in blocks of ice! (That’s why they’re shivering.) Your job is to arrange the blocks correctly so they’ll smash and free the kittens. You’ll be thanked with an oh-so-rewarding meow!
So, you save fake (but adorable) video game cats. And with your purchase you save real, actual ASPCA shelter cats! Everyone wins. And the game is just $2.99. You can get it in the iTunes app store. For more info (like, just how cold are these little felines?) visit www.shiveringkittens.com.

We’re Fixin’ to Fix Animals!
Coola task force of 22 vets was convened by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians to create guidelines for spay-neuter programs nationwide. (Isn’t it nice when we all work together toward a common goal?) On the task force was our very own Dr. Kathleen Makolinski, ASPCA Director of Veterinary Outreach.
We’re thrilled to have helped set these guidelines. Says our ASPCA prez and CEO, Ed Sayres, “We endorse the guidelines document as a means to ensure the welfare of individual animals when they undergo sterilization procedures, regardless of where such surgeries occur.” Read on for more information about the guidelines and where they can be found.
Setting the bar for spay-neuter programs is a milestone in the animal welfare industry! Wahoo!
