What in the world was the owner of the horse farm thinking? In other words the owner should go without food and water and medical treatment because he definitely has no feelings for these wonderful equines who deserve the same medical treatment as we do so the next time he goes to get serious medical treatment he should be denied regardless of how serious his injury is.
The owner is down right neglectful and selfish for his or her own needs!!!!!
I am digusted in his humane actions towards the wonderful horses.

Rhea,i'm sorry for what's happend to you. I do believe in your story and feel you are being sincere about what happend to you in this case, with the humane society and the law enforcement. However, your case doesn't surprise me, though. Nothing says that just because they the human society and police force stand for the safety and well being of animals and citizens, that they themeseves, don't break their own laws, in fact, the police, can act even more visious then an animal; even thenm, animals have a reason to act wild and viscious because they are, wild animals, but what' their excuse? Because of cases like your, I am sometimes hasitant to donate to places like the human society for animals and other agencies. I say this because I know that a lot of these things go on, such as what happend to your dog being beaten up and abused at the hands of the same people that proclaim to help animals. How know's what some of these poor animals have to go through at the hands of these viscious humans that shield themselves with a name like: "Animal Human Society" However, because I am an animal lover and believe that when God created humans, he created animlas, wild and domestic, to co-exist and share the world with us humans, for a wonderful purpose and very good reason, believe they deserve respect and should be loved and cared for, I will continue to scrutinize the animal agencies before I decide to give any donations. "What a shame, that is" that because of these ruthless agencies and people, innocent animals have to pay the ultimate price. I tell you, in the fight to get congress to punish enact laws to protect animal rights, there should also implement, or create more severe punishment for those who withing their own work to protect animal right and well being, brake them. Good luck t Rhea, and don't give up. Remember, perseverence in these cases, sometimes is the key I hope your dog is doing well and has recovered from her inflictions.

I live in Washington State and let me tell you the horses have to be half dead before the police will step up and do anything. This just makes me sick. To Brenda! I ask and ask for help to start my rescue and I am still in the process but making headway.. You have to download the application and then look it over and then decide if you want to move forward.. Its a biggie...lol Oh the app can be downloaded from the IRS site.

My heart goes out to you, RHEA; God bless you for your compassion and courage. It sounds like you need a different approach to the problem, given the apparent local corruption. can you possibly get media attention? Perhaps you can go to a major network (local might also subject you to more abuse, I don't know). Sometimes, when the eyes of the public are focused on these bullies, they cease from shame. Here in NY, we get reporters on different channels/networks (e.g., Help Me Howard, 7 On Your Side) who take action on behalf of people suffering an injustice who go to them; it often involves either a business or a government agency, state or local. I wish you the best in your cause.

I think people who do the cruel acts to animals, should have the same thing done to them, give them a taste of their own medicine.

How does your comment contribute to this ASPCA rescue event? This is not the place for you to "vent" or seek help for your situation. Please find a more appropriate venue for your monologue.

@Brenda, you can volunteer at a shelter to see what they require for paid employees but most animal cruelty investigators have high school, some criminal justice and animal handling. You can get the handling at a kennel, vet or shelter. Criminal justice is available on line, through NACA or working code enforcement (meter maid, housing inspector).

Hi Brenda, I know how you can help.
You can just volunteer at your local animal shelter, doing things like walking dogs and cleaning. Talk to people there for further ideas on how to get into this field of public service.

My run in with Police over protecting and caring for horses with 0 Water, 0 grain & 0 hay!!
Both myself & my companion dog are victims of severe criminal injustice in Ohio, at the hands of Clermont County's Goshen Police Dept., Sheriff Dept, Animal Control & Humane Society.
Brief history of situation: I was falsely imprisoned due to a "False Police Report" file by the Goshen Police Dept. Detective. I received 0 Miranda Rights, was made to go before a judge without an attorney, was never even so much as even questioned about the 'alleged criminal activity' - I was simply cuffed while attending court to Defend myself against ficticous charges of "Criminal Trespass" that came about as a result of me feeding starving horses!
Before my head could stop spinning - I was found guilty & convicted of a crime i never did and thrown in jail! This is so factual in deed that the 'Detective' who reported the crime literally changed the police report from the day I was 'falsely arrested & imprisoned' (3/19) to the date I went to trial (4/7).
Back to my companion, while I was incarcerated, my companion dog was confiscated from my van and abused by the Humane Society (she was kicked upside the head)!! This isn't just hearsay - it has been testified to under oath by a Deputy Sheriff and Animal Control Officer. And validated by 2 witnesses and a veternarian within 24hrs of release from 'Humane Society'.
Bessie's cheek/snout swelled to almost 2x's it's normal width. It swelled out so far that she slobbered all night. Her left eye was completely filled with blood!! And her right eye was 1/2 filled with blood.
I filed charges of 'Animal Cruelty' against the Human Society & Aniaml Control on 4/6/10. And yet with another retalitory response, on 4/7 Clermont County Animal Control had 2 BENCH WARRANTS for my arrest issued!
"Crime" accused of: Failure to License a Dog (1st offense!). No citations were issued, however 2 Bench Warrants for my Arrest were, despite the fact that the 'offense' is NOT criminal and does not carry any jail time.
Additionally, animal control had to trespass on My Property on 3/19 in order to know that I had another dog in my home. Why do i state this? Because they had no legal grounds to be on my property on 3/19 AND the 2nd dog (a foster dog) could NOT be seen from the road!
So, in order to know that I had a 2nd dog on 3/19 animal control had to have criminally trespassed on my property. Or they simply fabricated this story based on the dogs i had listed on my rescues' Petfinder website. It was a Retalitory Action by them plain and simple - in response to me filing "Animal Abuse" charges against them!
This all began due to me feeding horses that had 0 grain, 0 hay and 0 water in their delapitated stalls. They were clearly not being cared for, were held captive in the shed that was falling apart and forced to stand in 2-3' of feces.
I was being "A Good Samaritan" in accordance with ORC 1717.13. I had contacted animal control and the local police regarding the situation. The local police refused to do anything saying it was an animal control matter. Animal control took more than 48hrs to respond to horses without food or water. In the meantime, I fed & water'd them so as to keep them alive until help arrived in accordance with ORC 1717.13.
Since this has been orchestrated by a "Humane Society" I hoped you would be willing and wanting to stop this kind of public awareness by another organization by a similar name. I know all "humane societies" are not related or connected. But I also know major crimes have been commited against myself and my companion k9 and I'm desperate for help!
I have contacted a few attornies in cincinnati but have stopped due to great concern for the lives of myself and my dogs due to the corruption & cohersion amongst the agencies.
I have everything very clearly and thoroughly documented. There's much more to the story but I thought I'd start with a brief intro. I'm Desperate for help...
Most Respectfully,
Rhea
