BMAH Acquires Digital X-ray Unit to Serve Patients

Digital X-rayBergh Memorial Animal Hospital (BMAH) recently updated its radiology department with the addition of a fully digital x-ray unit, an essential diagnostic tool. It reduces the amount of time your pet spends on the x-ray table, resulting in less exposure to radiation and less stress for your pet, which often lessens the need for sedation. We are also able to provide our clients with CD copies of their pets’ x-rays when necessary. A digital x-ray system is better for the environment, too! It eliminates the need for films and developing chemicals, all of which are harmful if not disposed properly.

BMAH also uses a digital dental radiography system to help manage your pet’s oral health. It helps reveal tooth fractures beneath the gum line, bone loss and other serious defects that are impossible to see during a visual exam and routine cleaning. In fact, a recent study found that 28 percent of dogs and 41 percent of cats showed tooth problems on x-ray that could not be seen otherwise.
