Pasha

Aging Gracefully

Pasha the DogPasha’s story is a great example both of how a little love can go a long way, and of the special joys of living with a senior dog. Emily Pataki writes:

Pasha was adopted from the ASPCA Adoption Center in 2005, and she is still going strong.

At first, this pretty Chow mix would cry and tense up when she entered dog parks. She was very standoffish, even to family members, but over time she learned to relax, make herself at home and welcome others into her home as well.

Now, she is the calmest and most peaceful, mature dog in our very busy neighborhood—brave and calm under pressure.

Pasha has stood by us through good times and bad, even coming to our side to comfort us when we were sick or sad. She's blossomed in her new life and is one of the family.

Everyone in our building asks what kind of dog she is, saying she looks so much like a beautiful fox or a wolf. Pasha is a unique beauty, and is growing old gracefully.

We can't imagine life without her, and we'll always let her beg at dinner time. Because we love her.
